Knife crime operation draws blank
According to the BBC in this article, the police conducted an operation to combat knife crime by searching over 260 young people & having a further 140+ go through a “knife arch”.
Which begs the question: What is a knife arch?
An arch made out of knives? Isn’t that dangerous - what if it collapses. Oh noes! What if the sunlight glances off the cold steel blades and temporarily blinds someone?!
But I digress. What concerns me most about this article is that no knives were found. That’s right - 260 law abiding citizens going about their lawful business were temporarily detained & violated by being searched.
Do we live in a democracy or a police state?
Are we now presumed guilty until we prove ourselves innocent?
Do we live in that much fear that we give away our liberties?
